Spain’s “padron” registers 5 million foreigners

The national institute of statistics (INE) has registered 5,648,671 foreigners in Spain, 12 per cent of the total population. These figures show an increase of 380,000 foreigners, nevertheless it does not take into account those people who were registered but have in the meantime left the country.
